We often say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. But where is the heart of your kitchen? Many people think that the stove is where the magic happens, but we often forget about all the washing, cutting, and preparation that needs to happen before. Kitchen sinks are one of the most overlooked appliances, but it’s time to give them the attention they deserve.

Kitchen sinks tend to come in stainless steel, metal, and other various composite materials. Over time these finishes can scratch, discolor, and can become dull with more use. So it’s no surprise that more homeowners are looking for more resilient sink materials that will stand the test of time.

Fireclay first made its appearance in late 17th century Britain and it’s making a timeless comeback in modern kitchens today. Molded from clay found in specific regions, Fireclay sinks are known for their durability and continuous shine. The hand-crafted sinks are fired in a kiln that ranges between 2,000 and 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit which results in a nonporous surface resistant to tough scratches and daily use. Fireclay sinks come in a wide variety of styles and sizes, but typically don’t have any protrusions over the counter which makes for easy counter clean-up.
