How To Make Your Building More Guest Friendly

When making plans to build or renovate a hotel or residential building, you need to consider making it appealing to guests and visitors. People rely heavily on reviews, and there are some important ways you can improve your guest experience to maximize the number of 5-star reviews for your facility! Let's go over some essential tips, starting with your entryway.

Tip #1: Enhance Your Entryway

When a guest steps into your building for the first time, you need to make them feel like they're in another place outside of the city. It's always a good feeling to see a massive smile on their faces the first time they pass through the entrance. Something as simple as placing a beautiful painting on the wall or adding plants outside can create a calming atmosphere. Depending on your entranceway style, you can also consider using skylights (a popular Best Roof Hatches category) to allow natural sunlight to welcome your guests.

When choosing paint, consider light-shaded colors and pair them with unique decor pieces and textures to make the space more inviting.

Tip #2: Add Luxury to Your Lounge

Carefully select and place furniture to create a comfortable, luxurious area for guests to relax and socialize with cozy lounges, overstuffed couches, and stylish chairs with small tables. Add some current magazines, fresh flowers, and relaxed lighting to create an inviting space for guests to spend leisure time or wait for the valet, concierge, or front desk staff. Don't forget to add charging stations for mobile phones since guests often forget to pack a charger!

You can also place massage chairs in the lounge areas to keep your guests and visitors relaxed to the fullest. It’s becoming a popular trend for many building establishments because people need to pay before they get to use the massage chair.

Tip #3: Use Quality Flooring

After a long day of travel, guests want nothing more than to have a well-appointed hotel to rest in and relax. Select a mix of flooring - plush carpeting designed for high traffic areas with stain guards works for hallways and hotel rooms. Foyers can be marble or granite floors with beautiful textured area rugs, and then you can decide on hardwood or commercial laminate flooring in the restaurant. Typically, bathrooms and kitchens will have some form of water-resistant tile, but whatever you choose, make sure you have a consistent color scheme throughout for a cohesive look.

Neutral colors can work for a professional, formal vibe. On the other hand, hotel spaces sometimes use bold and bright accent colors for visual appeal while sticking to subdued colors for a calm and comfortable atmosphere in sleeping areas.

Tip #4: Keep Your Building Clean and Fresh

Plan your build or renovation with practicality in mind. Consider where to place doorways and electrical and central vac outlets and think about the placement of ventilation. Careful planning will make your space more inviting - it will also be a lot more accessible for cleaning. Look at options for energy-efficient systems that keep the air free from contaminants, including cleaning products, since many people suffer from allergies.

You can find allergy-free cleaning products that don’t have any traces of scent. Your cleaners can also use natural products, such as baking soda, white vinegar, and lemon juice if your building doesn’t need extensive cleaning.

By sprucing up your entryway, choosing the right furniture, installing high-quality flooring, and keeping the building clean, your hotel or residential building will give your guests and visitors a warm welcome! Also, don’t forget to keep up with the latest building design trends to bring something new to old and new visitors.
